The case is made of the characteristic fluted aluminium and picks up on design features of the first generation of the Porsche 911. Thanks to the wheel-free design, which also includes TSA-approved locks and a glossy aluminum handle, the model can be easily stowed in the trunk of a Porsche for the weekend getaway, the partners said. Accentuated by high-gloss details meant to evoke the high-gloss silver finish of a first-generation Porsche 911, it features black leather straps and an authentic Porsche crest on the front of the case.
To illustrate their collaboration, RIMOWA and Porsche have made five original films.
Created in Germany, the films in the style of theatrical trailers tell the story of Pepita, a fictional character inspired by the houndstooth pattern of the RIMOWA x Porsche carry-on suitcase. The series is set in different decades and features classic cars from Porsche as an exciting tribute to the partnership between two German icons.
