The Dolomites are an absolute gem in the Alps simply because of their characteristic appearance. The possibilities for exploration are practically unlimited, the only question that remains is the base.

And my entry is called: Forestis. The Forestis is a retreat in the middle of alpine nature, where you will be warmly welcomed. A place of power in the mountains, where time can be felt again and physical and mental mindfulness finally receive the meaning they deserve. The Forestis is located in an absolutely secluded location at 1,800 m above sea level on the southern slope of Mount Plose, surrounded by dense forests. In July 2020, the new hideaway opened in Palmschoß on the Plose above Brixen.

The South Tyrolean architect Armin Sader and the Forestis interior team have reinterpreted the traditional architecture and created a natural atmosphere throughout the resort through the use of regional materials. Far removed from everything familiar, the Forestis sees itself as a protective refuge in which the values of simplicity, naturalness and time can once again be experienced directly by people.

While the suites located in the historic main house have amenities such as a walk-in closet, a separate living area and a south-facing balcony, a traditional tiled stove in the Tower Suite provides additional cosiness. The Penthouse des Forestis is surrounded by dense treetops. Nothing distracts you from the view of the valley, the wooded mountains and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites.

In 2000, the South Tyrolean hotelier Alois Hinteregger discovered the existing house from 1913 behind wild hedges during a walk in Palmschoß. Alois Hinteregger immediately sensed the extraordinary nature of this place. A few years later, his family bought the building and opened it as a hotel in 2010. Alois Hinteregger’s son, Stefan, and his partner Teresa Unterthiner developed the Refugium Forestis from this.

The hosts at the 5-star Hideaway Forestis, Teresa and Stefan, want their guests from all over the world to enjoy the luxury of spending time surrounded by nature and experiencing unforgettable experiences and encounters.
