Cocktail bar "Le Club Bacán" and restaurant "Cantina" shake up the trendy district of Recoleta. The bar and restaurant in the new Hotel Casa Lucia promise to become the hippest "place to be" in the city. This is ensured by the cocktails of Argentina's best bartender, Martín Suaya, and a cuisine that is completely dedicated to tradition with a modern twist. The impressive wine selection is also absolutely outstanding.

Casa Lucia, the long-awaited new hotel opening in Buenos Aires in 2024, is now a reality. The headquarters of the elegant five-star hotel is also legendary. The house is tucked away in the iconic Edificio Mihanovich, a prime example of Argentine architecture that was the tallest building in all of Latin America in the 1930s. Casa Lucia will delight visitors and locals alike. Harbingers of this are the two culinary jewels of the house, the Cantina restaurant and the bar Le Club Bacán.

Cantina: the essence of Argentina with local flavors

In the Cantina restaurant, decorated with paintings and polo paraphernalia, guests can experience the culinary richness of Argentina. Because all dishes celebrate the tradition and culture of the country. Just like Casa Lucia itself. Because it reflects the Argentine essence in an incomparable way. The experienced chef Julián del Pino, trained by Christophe Krywonis, Martín Berasategui and, in recent years, at the helm of the Bagatelle restaurant, among others, offers, in his words: “A genuine, authentic offer with local flavors. Every bite is like a souvenir.” Cantina wants to capture all the aromas and flavors that make Argentina what it is. Honest, authentic cuisine is cooked with the best products according to local recipes. However, with a modern twist.

A fabulous wine cellar with 400 different labels

The dishes can be wonderfully combined with another of the country’s delicacies – the wonderful wines. From the Argentine wine capital Mendoza, there are various grape varieties on offer, including Malbec as the flagship or the aromatic and elegant Torrontés, a local grape variety from the Calchaquíes valleys. “Our guests can discover a wide range of grape varieties, wineries and regions. Our team will advise you personally and competently. It takes our guests on a journey through more than 400 different labels,” explains Román Mailhos, Food and Beverage Manager of Casa Lucia.

Le Club Bacán: Creative drinks conjured up by the star bartender

At Le Club Bacán, mixology becomes art. And it does so through the exclusive selection of signature cocktails by award-winning bartender Martín Suaya. His creations are not just drinks. His cocktails and drinks tell stories of passion and creativity. The multi-award-winning bartender is the best in Argentina and is now starting his new adventure at Le Club Bacán. In the new luxurious bar, guests can enjoy drinks while enjoying live music in a vibrant atmosphere.

“Le Club Bacán is a perfect symbiosis of the elegance of ‘haute cocktails’ and the absolute passion of Argentine culture, which embodies in every sip the essence of tango, rock and folklore in an atmosphere of unparalleled luxury,” he explains. “One of our star drinks is the ‘Suspiro de Bandoneón’, which contains Johnnie Walker Red Label, basil, a bit of citrus and syrup. This gives the whiskey a soft, almost imperceptible taste and is very gentle when drunk. In addition, since our opening, there has been a cocktail that is a topic of conversation and is in high demand. It is the ‘Puente’. Combined with Tanqueray gin, red fruits, black cardamom and roasted marshmellow, it’s very sweet and fresh,” says Suaya.

Of course, the menu also includes classics such as Whiskey Sour, Negroni, Dry Martini, Margarita, Old Fashioned and Mojito. Those who opt for non-alcoholic drinks have the choice between mocktails and lemonades, such as the “Casa Lucia Lemonade” with lime, lemon, lemongrass water and green tea.

Casa Lucia – an authentic Argentine experience

At Casa Lucia, every moment is a celebration of Argentine authenticity and hospitality. Whether it’s an exquisite meal at the Cantina or a cocktail at Le Club Bacán, the new five-star hotel in Buenos Aires invites you to discover and enjoy the best the city has to offer.
